You are spot on in your comments about the whole episode. The revival is a mixed bag, a complex mishmash of God and human frailities and insecurities, and even demons will find the shadows in his life and ministry, a place in which to operate.

Thanks for sharing about the apostolic band that tried to help him. I guess it needed people of that stature to get a hearing at all. Unfortunately these kind of people are busy itinerant ministers with full calenders and things have broken before the 24 cracks could even be pointed out to.

We share a common respect for RT Kendall: he has a good balance that the "unreached" pentecostal-charismatic people group need!

I don't agree with u that u said some christians 'condemn' homosexuals. Yes we don't judge, but we are to be discerning and warn homosexuals of their eternal consequences. After all, if we love someone, all the more we warn them of the danger to come.

Hey Kenny,

Thanks. Yes, indeed I think that's one of my greatest challenges - to keep still and appreciate silence and not always seek to fill my world with music (even if it's P&W music!).

Dear David,

Thanks for your prayers. Indeed Jesus is everywhere in the Bible and it's all about Him. I think one can understand that and believe that and indeed be warmly satisfied in one's heart as you mentioned. And yet, I think there's still so much more. Not apart from Christ, for all things flow to us because of the work of Christ and never apart from it. And yet, I don't think that one has arrived when one experiences such a warmly satisfied heart, but it's only the mere beginning of a journey!

I pray the Lord will grant the desires of your heart.

I find silence and solitude are the two organs that help us ear...I mean, HEAR.

Thanks for your honest and down to earth sharing through your blog which I've been following for a while. Happy to hear your appetite for God has finally tipped over to a greater desire for much more, which isn't too bad at all. Much discovery and growth come about from a dissatisfaction with the status quo and you sound like you're on the way to greater truths and revival.

They say life without Jesus, is like a donut, is like a donut, is like a donut; Life without Jesus is like a donut, with a hole in the middle of the heart...

Any truth, theology or understanding apart of Jesus is kinda like a donut and has a hole in the very heart of it. To see God apart from Jesus can warp our perception of things like truths, voices and even experiences. Jesus himself says that He who has seen him has seen the Father.

I pray that in your search to find the real Jesus that's found not just in the New Testament, but hidden in the Old Testament, you'll see him appear in every story there is. From Abraham to Jacob to David and Solomon. From the Judges to the Prophets to the kings. From the exile to the promise land and back and forth, Jesus is there in the stories.

After Jesus was crucified, his disciples kinda went their own way, of which 2 were going home via the Emmaus Road. For some reason, Jesus appeared to them but they couldn't recognize him until Jesus opened up the Old Testament ( scriptures ) and showed them things concerning himself. Only then did they recognize it was Jesus and their hearts were warmed.

I interpreted the warm heart as a description of a satisfied heart and I hope you be blessed with it soon.

Hi stillhaventfound,

very insightful blog you have =)

I understand what you talked about.

I came from a very mission based church to NCC, and it is a very different climate. I do feel however that many NCC-ers I know spread the Word through their families, their workplace even tho' they aren't doing the gungho thing. You can say it is a softer marketplace approach, but their hearts are definitely still about making Christ known.

The lost and sick are not only those who have never heard of Christ. As an ex-Roman Catholic, I know of so many supposed Christians who have no clue who Jesus is or what His death on the cross truly has secure for our lives now and forever. I feel especially led to these people... and I know a few other friends who also feel the same. They came from the more traditional Christian denominations and have seen so many Christians bound by legalistic teachings.

If everyone focuses only on newbies, then these oldies who still need nourishment as they learn how to walk might get left behind. =) Jesus said that until your friend is also experiencing the same joy, freedom and victory in their lives as we do, we should not cease to edify and help them.

Different gardeners and different garden patches I guess. We can't all be working on one paddyfield just like we can't all be wielding the same tool. Some people are sowers, some hold a watering can, some fertilise and others dig/till the soil before the seeds can be sown. =) I believe God will position us for His glory =D

Dun get me wrong, I would love to do missions more too - like be all GI Jane Missionary =D but I have a responsibility as a wife and mother to a 6 year old (who incidentally wants to be a missionary!) =D

My hubby and I would like however to go on a mission trip. I learned from a CG member, who just joined our church some months back, that he is going on a mission trip with our church! Can't wait to ask him more about that. =D

As for now, I am taking baby steps to serve in Church ministry first. I used to serve in my teens, but I was quite scarred by some incidents within the RC church I was in. It took time, but I am healed and ready to serve again. =D To God be the glory!

Keep writing... your blog is food for thought. =D

God bless,
Geri
